stuff i wrote:
SIREN (Full-Length Musical, Book/Music/Lyrics by Dillon Feldman, semi-finalist 2023 Eugene O’Neill NMTC, featured in concert at 54 Below, TGR42, Playthings Theatre Gala): Three sirens are the last vestiges of a withering community, when they make the choice to add a girl from a nearby village to their ranks. They are unaware, however, that she carries a dark past and a grudge with her. This play explores grief and what that can look like, and of course, sound like, in this fractured group of musical spirits. Industry Reading April 2022 at 54 Below, starring Brittney Mack (Six), Troy Iwata, (Be More Chill), Marcy Harriell (In the Heights).
GOOD (Full-Length Play with Music, Play by Rebecca Wahls, Music by Dillon Feldman, commission for Duke University 2025): GOOD explores the measures women take to maintain their identity in a world that consistently proves they will never be enough – but also strongly advises them against being too much.
THIS OLD HAUNT (Full-Length Musical, Music by Dillon Feldman & Maggie Kane, Book by SMJ, Direction & Dramaturgy by Rebecca Wahls, development at Carnegie Mellon University and Fort Salem Theatre, 29-hour reading with Tisch New Theatre at NYU, finalist for Write Out Loud 2024, Finalist 2024 Parlando School of Musical Arts’ New Musical Project, Featured in Prospect Theatre x Latiné Musical Theatre Lab’s New Musical Mixtape): this old haunt is an exploration of the complex, ever shifting nature of female friendship, told through a folk-infused score. The story unfolds as four women, who have drifted apart over the years, reunite at their former high school choir teacher’s cabin in the Vermont woods. Together, they navigate their past, confronting losses, triumphs, and the delicate balance of maintaining their bond as they move through life.
The Way They Are (Short Play, Fleas on the Dog Issue 10): Two young people confront their feelings and the military-industrial complex, maybe at the same time.
Yet Untitled French Fairy Musical (Full-Length Musical, developed at La Porte Peinte residency in Noyers, France): A young couple in a French village struggles to survive when their only source of family income is disrupted, prompting one of them to plead with the mayor to convert a decaying building in town into a flower shop. With the help of a mysterious (and magical?) outsider, our hero builds a thriving business that rejuvenates the town, but finds themself on a journey of self-discovery that threatens their relationships and the fabric of the town as a whole.
